A Great Tradition

Choosing the bride’s parents’ 40th wedding anniversary as their wedding day on Saturday, September 24th, 2011, Laura Elizabeth Snyder and Colin David Bonfiglio took their vows at 5:30 pm at St. George’s Episcopal Church in Nashville. The bride wore a stunning Monique Lhuillier ivory, strapless dress with re-embroidered and embellished lace and a hand-beaded Swarovski crystal belt. The colors for the wedding included a mixture of browns and white. A reception at Hillwood Country Club followed the ceremony with Burning Las Vegas providing the music and a very flavorful cake by Billie Mochow while Kimberly Manz photography captured all of the perfect moments from the evening. After the big day festivities concluded, they whisked off to a honeymoon in Sicily, Italy. It was such a pleasure working with Laura and Colin and planning out all of the details for their very special day.

Katherine + Drew – An Engagement

Their wedding is right around the corner in late August. The ceremony will take place at the beautiful Woodmont Christian Church followed by a stunning reception at Nashville’s only Five Start Hotel, The Hermitage Hotel.

It’s a…Baby Shower – At Home Tennessee Magazine

Inspired by the Tale of Peter Rabbit, I was very excited to design this baby shower to celebrate my sister and the arrival of her new little boy, Max. The brightly-colored setting was full of rabbits, lettuce, watering cans, and garden vegetables, as well as Beatrice Potter and Peter Rabbit illustrations. The lunch included mini pimento cheese sandwiches, bacon and cheese quiche tartlets, strawberry pretzel salad, thyme and parmesan cheese shortbread biscuits, vinegar-based pasta salad, assorted mini muffins and petite petit favors, and my homemade tea punch to top it off for the all the guests. There were mini-chalkboard signs that read, ‘Welcome, Max’ popping out of a heads of lettuce underneath colored poms hanging in the trees. It was indeed a fairytale scene brought to life to invite a very special little one into this world.

A Day at the Carnival – St. George School ‘End of the Year’ Party

To conclude the ending of another spirited school year, I designed a Carnival-themed party for the 5-yr-old classes at St. George’s Episcopal Day School. The outdoor event included a wide range of exciting carnival activities including a full petting zoo with over 15 animals, miniature pony rides, carnival games, face painting, a balloon-maker, stilt-walker, flame juggler, and colorful large swirl lollipops as take-home party favors. A fair vendor also came to serve hot corn dogs, french fries, funnel cakes, popcorn, and cotton candy. Maggie Moo’s also came and made custom sundaes for each child as well! The adults enjoyed sharing stories from the school year and discussing upcoming summer plans, as the children enjoyed a day under the big top complete with unending excitement and fun all around.

Cupcakes and Cocktails – At Home Tennessee Magazine

Creating a new spin on an Southern tradition of the Sip n’ See, we welcomed baby Landry with a Cupcake and Cocktails shower! The event was held on a Thursday evening to allow the moms in attendance a girl’s night out, and to introduce them to our friend Bethany’s newest addition to her family. We served a fun pink punch named after the baby, ” Landry’s Lemonade” as well as a selection of mini cupcakes from Dulce Desserts, including chocolate with raspberry buttercream, vanilla with vanilla buttercream, caramel-filled, and the signature cherry almond mini-cupcakes. The cupcakes were displayed on a three-tier wrought iron cupcake stand sitting directly below a large pearly ‘L’ hanging from the ceiling as the centerpiece. The decorations were a collaboration of adorable baby items splashed in pinks and whites to accent this delightful event.

A Night for Women – Partners in Hope Fundraiser

In celebration of an incredible cause, Brentwood United Methodist Church hosted the 1st Annual Women’s Benefit Dinner. I, along with my co-chair, Rachael Melton, helped prepare a formal dinner with speakers and entertainment for this event. The program featured nationally known guest speaker and Christian author Dee Brestin. This community-wide event brought together over 400 women of all generations for a night of fun, fellowship, and worship. The event was held in memory of Leslie Harvey, who passed away in 2009 from breast cancer. All proceeds went to BUMC’s Partners in Hope. Partners in Hope is a ministry at BUMC that provides for people and their families in the community who are suffering from cancer. Each table at the dinner was uniquely designed around the theme of “Wings of Love.” The sit-down meal was catered by local Southern sensation, Copper Kettle restaurant. Men from BUMC served as waiters for the evening, much to the delight of the women present! The evening was a night full of laughs and tears as more than 400 women came out to support such a great cause.
